The Ibanez SR500 comes from the SR line-up of guitars which are designed to offer the player a modern playing experience alongside strong and versatile tones. Many of their basses feature active electronics to give further tonal options and are finished in a way to show off the quality of the woods underneath.
The SR500's body is constructed from mahogany, giving a warm and resonant tone. Finished in Antique Brown Stain, the beauty of the wood grain is readily apparent. The neck is made from jatoba and bubinga, making it strong and stable despite its thinness. A rosewood fingerboard tops the neck and adds to the resonance of this instrument, whilst providing a stable platform for the left hand.
The SR500 features an asymmetric double cutaway offering comfortable contours and easy access to the higher frets. The neck joint is bolt-on and, like many of the Ibanez guitars, is designed to be as low-profile and rounded as possible. Your left hand will have no problem reaches the upper end of the neck which will be ideal for playing those important solos. The neck features a slim profile and wide radius giving you maximum access to the lower strings.
The SR500 features Bartolini Mk1 Pickups which are internal dual coil design. They feature a very wide frequency range and are designed to give the same responsiveness and open tones of single coils. Their lack of hum and noise, alongside their high definition and accuracy, makes them ideal for the modern working musician. The SR500 also features active electronics to provide you with a 3-band EQ giving an even wider range of tonal options.
The Accu-cast B300 bridge allows precise intonation and delivers string-to-body vibrations effectively. The guitar features solid chrome controls and toggle switches to ensure that the SR500 will become a gigging tool that you can rely on.
