Key Features
Part of Supro's 'Classic' range, the Supro Comet 1x10 Combo. This is a vintage-sounding powerhouse, built in the USA, delivering boutique tones at bedroom levels. The Comet features a traditional spring reverb and a tremolo that opens this amp up to all those lush '60s blues and rock tones.
The Comet is a single-ended, class A, 6L6 loaded tone machine. And as such, elicits huge harmonic overtones, dynamic range, and touch sensitivity. This is the kind of amp you can set at break-up and just by being mindful of how hard you play, you can get crunchy tones when you dig in and fat clean tones just by backing off a little - a beautiful and responsive little amp.

Care and quality control are clearly at the forefront at Supro. The Comet's cabinet, although small, is incredibly well put together, strong, and sturdy. You won't be worrying if you take this out on the road with you. Not just tough in durability but also feisty, most vintage amps are normally voiced softer than this. Although all those classic ‘50s and ‘60s tones are there for you, there is an excess of gain which would make this a great amp for garage rock or anything that likes the ‘fuzzier’ side of overdrive. Using a boost at the front of your amp and the iconic Supro hard-driven midrange, you'll be heard at the back of venue as clear as if you were right up front.
This doesn’t just change how loud this amp is, but also the character of the Comet. The 6W mode has a spongy vibe with less headroom. This is great for ‘bluesy’ tones where breakup at lower volumes is required. The 14W model you may find better for big clean sounds which would be well suited to jazz. Both settings are amazing and, what's more, the amp is also great at taking pedals - not very common with small amps like this but it adds to its flexibility.
The Comet is loaded with a custom speaker, and despite it being 10’’ it kicks out a powerful low end which lends itself beautifully to this amp. If you find that it isn’t moving enough air, simply add an extension cab and get a truly massive sound. The all-valve reverb and tremolo are another perfect match, together they add a special depth and tone to your guitar, making even the simplest of chords shimmer and glow.
