About Virtual Plugins

A VST instrument plugin is a software-based instrument that can be played and edited within host DAW software or often standalone. While some replicate real-life hardware such as Arturia’s Minimoog V2 which models Moog’s classic synthesizer. Toontrack’s EZdrummer is another popular VST instrument that models the behaviour and sound of an acoustic drum kit. In conjunction with a MIDI keyboard, MIDI controller or even an electronic drum kit with MIDI capabilities, users can retain the fun in making music, by physically playing these virtual instruments.
