Ibanez AE Body

The Ibanez AE205 features the versatile and extremely comfortable body, the AE shape. Its innovative AE body has superb projection and balance, offering versatility for players of all techniques. The body is slightly bigger than the traditional dreadnought size, and with its deeper waist, players can appreciate its response to the dynamics of both aggressive strumming to subtle, lighter fingerpicking styles. In addition, the Ibanez AE205 provides an extremely comfortable playing experience due to its deeper contours and Venetian cutaway. Its deeper waist and contours enable players to sit comfortably with the guitar on the knee, offering better access, playability, and optimising comfort.

Solid Sitka Spruce & Mahogany Construction

The Ibanez AE205 features a solid sitka spruce top that yields crisp articulation and delivers a broad dynamic range, offering a versatile sound for players of any style. Its solid sitka spruce top has a clear and loud characteristic and is able to handle light fingerpicking to more aggressive strumming patterns with ease. The versatile solid top is coupled with mahogany back and sides delivering a woody, punchy characteristic with plenty of distinct warmth and resonance. Its mahogany back and sides also produces powerful mid-range emphasis, with great volume, balance, and articulation.

Mahogany Neck & Ovangkol Fingerboard

With a neck crafted from mahogany, the AE205 2018 has a great response to many different playing styles, this is due to the nature of the wood, making it ideal for players of any style. In addition, the neck is topped with an ovangkol fingerboard that adds warmth with a little hint of bright-sparkle to the overall sound. Its fingerboard also offers a smooth playability and is graced by a beautifully intricate wooden inlay.

Custom Electronics & Ibanez T-Bar Undersaddle Pickup

As well as offering a superb acoustic tone, players can benefit from the on-board custom electronics and Ibanez T-Bar undersaddle pickup. The discreet custom preamp allows players to plug into an amp, or directly into a PA system for larger events, and also features an endpin jack integrated preamp, which offers controls for mute and a battery checker. Ibanez wanted to reduce the amount of holes being cut into the body, which resulted in the subtle and sophisticated T-Bar pickup being placed under the saddle. Being unobtrusive as possible, the T-Bar features a center position wired construction which helps to avoid undesirable noise yet equalizes the volume of each string. With all this, the AE205 becomes ideal for the performing musicians.

Ibanez Advantage Bridge Pins

Unlike standard bridge pins, the AE205 2018 Electro Acoustic features advantage bridge pins, that are easier to take out and easier to put in. Each pin features a bulb shaped end, which is not only easy to grip, but also prevents the pin from being pushed in too far, for a reliable performance.

Real Bone Nut & Saddle

The Ibanez AE205 2018 features a real bone nut and saddle, for excellent resonance and sustain, allowing optimum string vibration transfer. Bone naturally self lubricates and helps you stay in tune for longer, as well as delivering a very balanced tone with longevity.

The AE205 offers a truly stunning appearance that showcases the delicate eye for beautiful ornate details that Ibanez has. The body has a high-gloss brown sunburst finish that is complemented by its authentic marbled pickguard as well as soundhole rosette, inlaid in abalone and maple for an eye-catching appearance. In addition, a delicately intricate fingerboard inlay gracefully trails the length of the fingerboard, complementing the brown sunburst colour scheme for a unique and creative design that is certain to look sublime on stage.
