Yes, it's great for beginners. But that's not all it can do. With fun at the forefront of the design, this bass is a streamlined version of Ibanez’s classic SR bass design. Its 32" neck scale is shorter than the usual 34" neck scale found on other basses allowing you to fret with ease, up and down the neck. This makes it great not just for those who are starting out, but for experienced bass players of smaller stature as well. It's also good for the tone. The shorter scale gives it a richer low end due to the size of the wood giving you a full bass tone. Couple this with the bite of the maple neck and you've got a very versatile sound.
The electronics in this beauty feature a set of Dynamix P/J pickups. The neck pickup provides a firmer low end, giving you a mellow warm sound and the bridge pickup gives your tone a little more grit which sounds great when playing rock bass riffs. And they're easy to control. The pickups can be selected and precisely controlled using the knobs on the front of the bass guitar, giving you a quick way to edit your tone settings. Experimenting is all part of the fun when you're learning what your sound is. Sculpt it until you're happy.
