View Full DescriptionThe iXz can be used in a variety of applications. Maybe you're practising guitar using an app and want to play in headphones with a metronome and effects. Perhaps inspiration strikes whilst songwriting and you need to record or build up a song to share with your band later. As well as plugging in a guitar, you can record using a mic input to capture your band practice or to record samples from the outside world to use later on.
Mic or Guitar-level Input
Unlike similar recording interfaces for iOS, the input of the Tascam iXZ can be switched between microphone-level or guitar-level. When switched to guitar level, the iXZ doesn't require any power. That makes the iXZ ideal for practising your guitar and bass as well as recording.
Switch to mic-level to enable the microphone preamp. Phantom power is available for powering a condenser microphone for detailed instrument or voice recording. A pair of AA batteries provide hours of microphone recording. Since the iXZ simply plugs into the headset jack of your iPhone™, iPad™ or iPod Touch™, an 1/8" headphone output jack is provided on the back of the iXZ.
To turn an iPhone™ into a portable practice, songwriting or live recording rig, it's tough to beat the Tascam iXZ.
