The Befaco Noise Plethora is a sound designer's dream, providing two channels of multitimbral noise generation compete with three analog multimode filter to sculpt your sound. Create gritty noises and textures with ease with three digital sound generators on offer complete with three independent outputs.

Taking after its name this intuitive module provides you with a Plethora of ways to generate and sculpt sound. Two channels offer the choice of dozens of varying algorithms, allowing you to create powerful rumbles, blips, harsh noises and sound spikes on the fly. Each algorithm also features two CV controlled parameters for deeper integration and sound design possibilities. Its ever-evolving nature makes it a must-have tool for sound design, creating unique textures at the touch of a few dials.

Each channel features its own analog multimode filter furthering your sound sculpting capabilities with the classic warmth and grit of the OTA-based filters. The third channel of the module is comprised of three independent outputs: Gritty, Filtered and White - adding granular style sounds to your arsenal.

Bank A – textures

Each pre-loaded bank features a choice of nine different algorithms with the first two channels on the module allowing you to blend between the sound generators for maximum versatility. Bank A features a range of textures perfect as a starting point for crafting atmospheric sounds and ethereal backdrops. Whether you’re a sound designer looking to create new and unique sounds or a Noise artist crafting their next production, the Plethora gives you everything you need to achieve this.

The algorithms for the texture generator are comprised of everything from cross ring modulation to resonant noise and grainy/glitchy sounds. This section features digital noise algorithms and an analog multimode filter for tonal shaping. It also features CV and resonance controls as well as a dedicated output.

Bank B – HH clusters

Bank B features the same style channel design as Bank A but designed for creating clusters of oscillators designed to deliver harsh and more in-your-face noises. Again, this bank features nine algorithms as well as CV and resonance controls. Some examples of the algorithms on offer include ‘ClusterSaw’ which is a combination of 16 sawtooth oscillators with adjustable linear frequency relation. Another example is the ‘FibonnaciCluster’ which utilises the Fibonnaci sequence to create multiples of frequency dictated by a ‘spread’ factor.

Bank C – Harsh and wild

Navigate to the ends of the audio generation spectrum with nine algorithms dedicated to pushing things past their limit. The Harsh and wild bank is perfect for creating harsh noises, blips and distorted wonders. You can judge by the algorithm’s names that you’re in for a ride with these crisp and brash parameters. Some examples of the algorithms on offer include ‘ExistencelsPain’ which uses Sample and Hold noise processed through four bandpass filters, with four triangle oscillators dictating the frequency. One of the most poignant algorithms has to be ‘SatanWorkout’. This grizzly-named algorithm is comprised of a white noise generator FM’ing a sine wave resulting in a downsampled and distorted sound.
