Teenage Engineering EP-1320 Medieval
OS 2.5 firmware update - record over USB, longer sampling and more
Teenage Engineering has released the EP series OS 2.5 firmware update, bringing a range of creative and workflow-focused improvements to the EP-133 K.O. II and EP-40.
One of the biggest additions is USB audio support, allowing users to record directly to a computer without extra hardware. Sampling has also become far more versatile, with new lo-fi sample rate options of 46kHz, 32kHz, and a gritty 26kHz setting for vintage-inspired textures.
Users can now reverse samples instantly, eliminating the need for time-consuming workarounds, while the new arpeggiator makes it easier to create evolving melodic patterns from existing sounds. Sampling time has doubled to an impressive 40 seconds in mono, giving producers more room for longer recordings and ideas. Loop-based production is also smoother thanks to equal-length auto chopping, which quickly slices phrases into evenly sized sections.
The update also includes improved time stretching for more natural results, additional musical scales for expanded creative possibilities, and per-pad timing adjustments that offer finer control over groove and performance.
Medieval sound library
The EP-1320 boasts an extensive collection of medieval sounds, ranging from hurdy gurdys and lutes to thundering drums and percussive foley effects. This library provides an unparalleled range of options for creating authentic medieval music. Whether you're producing sultry serenades or intense beats, these sounds bring a unique historical depth to your compositions. Extensive research over 2.5 years involving orchestras and choirs has ensured the highest quality samples, capturing the essence of medieval music.
Redesigned effects and arpeggiator
With redesigned send effects and 12 punch-in FX, the EP-1320 gives you creative control over your music. These features let you add dynamic changes and unique textures to your tracks effortlessly. The new arpeggiator further expands your musical possibilities, allowing you to create intricate patterns and rhythms that enhance your medieval compositions. The upgraded FX levels, including a unique 'Drunk' punch-in effect and updated reverb and delay, provide fresh sonic landscapes.
Playable medieval instruments
The EP-1320 includes a variety of multi-sampled medieval instruments, making it easy to integrate authentic sounds into your music. Play these instruments directly on the pads or via an external MIDI keyboard for a tactile and expressive experience. This feature is perfect for those looking to add a historical touch to their electronic music. You can summon your inner bard or troubadour with ease, playing along with 9 built-in medieval songs in demus mode, ideal for any event from taverns to banquets.
Custom sampling capabilities
The internal microphone and line input on the EP-1320 allow you to sample your own sounds quickly and easily. This feature is ideal for musicians who want to incorporate unique elements into their tracks. Capture your own vocals, instruments, or ambient noises to create personalised samples that add an extra layer of originality to your music. The sampling process is seamless, letting you integrate your custom sounds effortlessly.
Intuitive and versatile design
The EP-1320 is designed with user-friendly features that enhance your music-making experience. With 6 stereo voices and 12 mono, 128 MB of memory, and pressure-sensitive keys, this instrument is both powerful and responsive. The multifunctional fader and built-in mic and speaker ensure that you have everything you need to create music right out of the box. Additionally, the package includes 4 knobs, a sticker pack, and a quick start guide, making it easy to get started on your musical journey.
Teenage Engineering EP-35 K.O. Guitar Amp
Bring your entire setup together - onboard summing mixer
With six inputs and simultaneous audio mixing, the EP-35 K.O. AMP gives you plenty of ways to build your sound. Connect a guitar through the 6.35mm input, add vocals using the XLR microphone connection, and bring in backing tracks through Bluetooth or the stereo line input.
You can hear your connected sources together, making it easier to practise, perform, or experiment with different arrangements. USB audio connectivity adds another option, with a built-in USB 2.0 audio interface for working with compatible devices. The stereo line outputs also let you incorporate additional audio equipment into your setup, giving you more freedom when connecting your gear.
Shape guitar and vocal sounds with ease
Get creative with eight built-in effects presets designed for guitar and microphone signals. These give you sound-shaping options directly on the amplifier, so you can explore different tones without relying on additional effects equipment. The dedicated guitar input features low and high gain settings, helping you adjust the input to suit your instrument and playing requirements.
For vocals, the XLR microphone connection includes 48V phantom power, allowing you to use compatible condenser microphones alongside your guitar. It's a practical arrangement for singer-songwriters and performers who want to manage their instrument and microphone sounds from one compact device, keeping their setup straightforward.
Expand your sound with wireless connectivity
Bluetooth connectivity makes the EP-35 K.O. AMP useful beyond traditional instrument amplification. Stream audio wirelessly for listening sessions, rehearsals, or playing along with your favourite tracks. Support for Bluetooth LE Audio adds wireless functionality, while broadcast mode lets you connect multiple compatible K.O. AMPs together.
This means you can build a larger listening arrangement using additional speakers, particularly useful when sharing music with a group. The amplifier also supports Teenage Engineering's EP-Plug and EP-Grid systems. With the optional dock kit, you can attach a compatible EP series device directly to the front of the speaker, keeping your equipment together and within easy reach.
Take your music beyond the studio
Designed with portability in mind, the EP-35 K.O. AMP includes an integrated rechargeable battery, allowing you to play without relying on a constant mains connection. Charging takes place through USB-C, making it straightforward to prepare for your next session. The built-in carrying handle helps when transporting the amplifier between locations, while the integrated storage compartment provides a convenient place for small accessories.
Planning an evening outdoors? The built-in camp light provides illumination when natural light starts to fade. These practical details make the amplifier particularly useful for outdoor rehearsals, informal performances, and portable music setups where convenience matters.
Teenage Engineering EP-136 K.O. Sidekick 2 Channel Stereo Mixer
Shape your mix your way
You’re not locked into one sound approach here. With three selectable EQ styles, you can adapt the mixer to suit different setups and preferences. Choose a DJ-style curve for quick tonal changes, a studio-focused option for more balanced shaping, or a parametric approach when you need precision.
Each channel also includes its own compressor, helping you control dynamics at the source. That means cleaner mixes and fewer surprises when levels spike. It’s all laid out with dedicated controls, so you can make adjustments quickly without diving into menus.
Hands-on effects for live control
This mixer is built for interaction. Six performance-focused effects give you tools like delay, looping, tremolo, filtering, and more, all designed to be adjusted in real time. The pressure-sensitive FX pad and high-resolution FX bender let you shape effects with movement, not just knobs. And with the tap-FX sequencer, you can introduce rhythmic changes that stay in time with your mix. Whether you're building transitions or adding texture, these controls keep everything immediate and responsive.
Flexible connectivity and recording
You can slot the K.O.-Sidekick into almost any setup. Two stereo inputs and an additional aux input give you three sources to work with, while the main and cue outputs cover monitoring and playback. As a USB audio interface, it supports multi-channel recording, so you can capture each input separately alongside the master output.
There’s also stereo playback from your computer or phone, making it easy to integrate backing tracks or reference audio. It keeps your workflow simple while still giving you room to expand.
Portable design that adapts to you
Small enough to carry anywhere, this mixer is designed for movement. You can power it with AAA batteries for fully portable use, or connect via USB-C when you're in the studio.
Its lightweight build and compact footprint make it easy to fit into tight setups or travel rigs. And if you need more channels, you can physically link multiple units together using its compatible design. It’s a straightforward way to scale up without replacing your core setup.
Teenage Engineering EP-2350 FX MIC
PTT mic for direct sampling
The Teenage Engineering EP-2350 FX MIC is a handheld performance mic for vocalists, producers, and live electronic setups. Shape your voice directly from the microphone using four built-in effects: echo, echo with spring, pixie, and robot.
The parameter modulation lever gives you hands-on control over effects while performing, so you can adjust your sound without reaching for separate equipment. You can also trigger four onboard samples straight from the mic, with the option to replace them with your own sounds. Custom effects presets can be created using a simple JSON file, giving you more control over how the EP-2350 fits your setup.
Its deliberately lo-fi character suits experimental vocals and sample-based performances, while the 3.5mm curly line-out cable connects to K.O. II or other compatible setups. Power comes from two AAA batteries or USB-C.
