Hand-built in Madrid, Spain, Icicle is comprised of top of the line components and parts for maximum performance and sonic perfection. Comprised of hand-made 'through-hole' components, Icicle performs with no electronic friction allowing for a near-zero background noise level, perfect for hearing every detail of your signal in isolation to mix and EQ properly. Often overlooked, but who's contribution cannot be understated, the EQ unit is a staple of the recorded music industry. Every instrument and audio track can be effected with an EQ, whether it's being used to creative effect or simply for subtle boosts and cuts to the overall tone of your instrument, the EQ unit is the right tool for the job. Tierra Audio Icicle is no exception, feature packed and immaculate sounding, it will be your go-to for any challenge you face, whether you need to make some room in the low-end of your drums for your bass guitar or add brightness to dull vocal recordings, you will never need another EQ again.
Surgical precision
It's very common to find that when mixing certain instruments, there will be resonant frequencies that will stand out from your mix and cause some annoyance for your listeners, in these situation, Icicle is here to save the day! A wide-ranging Q-factor in each of the frequency bands allows you to hone in on a very narrow band of frequencies to notch out these resonances or fundamentals to keep your sound clean and precise. This can be particularly useful on percussive instruments with a strong fundamental note such as a snare drum or tom drum.
Broad strokes
As well as having the ability to notch out very narrow bands of frequencies to clean up the signal of your instrument, Icicle can also deliver wide and broad ranges of frequency boosting and cutting to give a more natural and smooth response to your EQ. For example, the treble filter reaches up to 29.5kHz, far beyond human hearing, and by boosting this range with a wide Q-factor, you will naturally increased the amount of presence to your signal that rises exponentially the higher the frequency. The result will be a smooth and natural sounding treble lift that doesn't suffer from harsh spikes that can put the listener off your mix.
