About Universal Audio Volt Gen 2

Universal Audio Volt Gen 2 are USB audio interfaces built for recording music, podcasts, livestreams, and other content. The range combines 32-bit/192kHz conversion with Universal Audio’s Tone Shaping Preamps, giving you detailed recording alongside hands-on ways to adjust your sound before it reaches your software.

The Tone Shaping Preamps offer three modes: Warmth, Focus, and Shine. These provide tube, solid-state, and British Class-A-inspired characters respectively, so you can add some colour to vocals and instruments while tracking. USB bus power also keeps compatible setups tidy and portable, while built-in loopback makes it straightforward to combine live inputs with computer audio.

For compact recording setups, the Universal Audio Volt 1 Gen 2 Audio Interface features a mic/line input and dedicated Hi-Z instrument input, allowing you to record vocals and an instrument simultaneously. The Universal Audio Volt 2 Gen 2 Audio Interface expands this with two mic/line and Hi-Z inputs, two Tone Shaping Preamps, and independent phantom power. It also adds Auto-Gain, Clip Protection, and a full-colour Smart Display, helping you set suitable levels and keep an eye on your recording.

The Universal Audio Volt 2 MAX Audio Interface takes things further for more involved studio setups. Alongside two Tone Shaping Preamps, it features six real-time compression presets for vocals, guitar, and bass. ADAT expansion lets you add up to eight digital input channels, while MIDI connectivity, dual headphone outputs, talkback, and UAD Console and LUNA integration give you plenty of room to develop your setup.

With models suited to simple desktop recording and expandable production systems, the Universal Audio Volt Gen 2 range makes it easy to choose an interface that fits the way you create.
